Studied Tango, immigrant influences, and Argentinian cuisine while exploring Buenos Aires’ cultural landmarks, including La Boca. Visited Iguazú Falls, analyzing its ecological significance and role in regional tourism. Examined linguistic variations in Rioplatense Spanish, focusing on phonetic distinctions and lexical influences from Italian and indigenous languages.

 

Chile

Explored the Andes Mountains' significance in Chilean geography, economy, and history, analyzing their impact on trade, settlement, and climate. Studied Chile’s founding, political struggles, and national resilience, visiting key historical sites. Visited the wine country, examining its economic importance and role in global exports. Explored the coastal cities of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, analyzing their artistic, cultural, and economic significance in Chilean society.

 

Costa Rica

Studied biodiversity in national parks and wildlife reserves, analyzing its role in environmental conservation and ecotourism. Learned about agricultural production, fair trade practices, and the significance of coffee in Costa Rican history and economy. Examined sustainable farming methods and their impact on local communities.

Cuba

Engaged in a humanitarian initiative, working alongside local communities to provide essential supplies and support. Explored Havana’s historic districts and visited rural areas, gaining insights into daily life, local economies, and social resilience. Studied Cuban perspectives on national and international issues, deepening my understanding of the country’s socio-political landscape. 

Guatemala 

Explored Mayan civilization and archaeology, visiting Antigua, Lake Atitlán, and the Petén rainforest. Studied Mayan linguistic influences on Spanish and cultural preservation efforts. Took part in archaeologist-led tours of Tikal and Yaxha, analyzing Mayan mythology, architecture, and historical significance.

Peru

Studied Andean and Incan cultural heritage, analyzing the significance of Machu Picchu, the Uros Islands, and the Peruvian Amazon. Examined biodiversity, cultural traditions, and economic structures in rural communities. Attended traditional textile demonstrations, gaining insight into indigenous weaving techniques and their role in local economies. Researched bilingual education initiatives in Quechua and Spanish.

Puerto Rico

Studied Spanish colonial history through visits to Old San Juan’s fortresses, historic districts, and cultural landmarks, analyzing the legacy of Spanish rule and its influence on Puerto Rican identity. Explored El Yunque National Park, examining its ecological significance, biodiversity, and the role of conservation efforts in the Caribbean.

 

Spain 

Lived in Spain for two years, immersing myself in its history, culture, art, and architecture while studying Spanish dialectology, sociolinguistics, and cultural studies at the Universidad de Salamanca. Explored Cataluña, País Vasco, and Galicia, analyzing their linguistic diversity, traditions, and cultural influences that distinguish them from other regions of Spain. Conducted academic and personal research on the historical evolution of the Spanish language and Spain’s current political and economic situation.​​​​​​​​​​

Visited Athens and the Aegean region to learn about classical philosophy, democracy, mythology, and their lasting impact on Western education, politics, and literature.

Studied the linguistic evolution from Latin to Spanish and other Romance languages, tracing historical influences through visits to Rome, Pompeii, Florence, and Venice. Explored Roman law, architecture, and cultural advancements, analyzing their continuing influence on Iberian history, governance, and linguistic structure. Examined the impact of classical Latin on Spanish syntax, vocabulary, and literary traditions.
